Leaving before two years
2nd year analyst with almost a year and a half of experience at this point. Had a very interesting job opportunity pop up that I am entertaining. Is it really that bad to jump ship before two years? My rationalization for entertaining is that our deal flow is essentially dried up right now so not getting great experience anyway and bonuses will likely be shit. Will my career progression actually be impacted by not completing two years?
No.
Any elaboration would be appreciated. Also slightly worried about leaving my team ahead of the unspoken two year contract deadline. But thinking that given recent headcount reductions and lack of a deal flow they may honestly see it as a blessing by not having to pay me bonus or severance.
Many analysts leave before 2 years, so it wouldn't be a big deal.
I don’t think it’s bad at all. What type of opportunity?
