London based analyst - drug testing
Hey guys.
Wondering if a BB may drug test me as a new analyst starting in the summer in london??
If this does occur, what form will the test likely test? A hair test is the only one which could cause me any issues.
Looking for London based info!
Any help much appreciated ... looking to find out just how much I can enjoy my final summer off before the big bad world of work

I am in NYC not London, but BBs will probably be the same across locations. Hair tests are extremely expensive and I've never heard of a BB requiring them. You should prepare for a urine test, which depending on the bank you may only have a few days notice.
Nice one - testing seems to be more common over your side of the pond, so if they aren't doing hair tests I should be sweet.
Haven't heard of anywhere in London testing for anything.

Asked some of my co-interns from last year’s class at BB who started full-time already and no one has been tested.

Never heard of anyone getting drug tested at BBs - Jefferies does though (although if you are close to an MD well...)
do you think there is any way of anonymously finding out for sure ..? Is that something I can ask HR for a definitive answer (not revealing my identity ofc)
Ask analysts is probs best. If you stop a week or two before you should be fine, they usually allow you to book your appointment hence you can book it as late as possible. Worse case senario use they condom method to cheat (google around). Good lucky

Haven't heard of any BBs drug testing. If you have a particular bank in mind I would probably be able to be more specific.
What about JP Morgan (London)?
have a friend who works there and wasn't tested, he is confident testing doesn't go on. Same mate also tells me to crack on saying there isn't any risk of testing ... I'm just too scared to gamble on it lol
