London: best Off-Cycles?
Hey friends. I have a question to ask. I’m looking into off-cycle opportunities in London. I know that many companies provide such opportunities, but most BBs and PEs (if any at all) focus more on summers as opposed to off-cycles. Which companies would you say consistently have large pool of off-cycle candidates and actively recruit for this position in London? I’m mostly looking into IBD and PE. Thank you 🙏🏽
I know off-cycles are a big thing in continental Europe, but unfortunately they require additional fluency in respective language 😢

You are totally incorrect regarding PE. Pretty much all PE internships in London are off-cycles. In fact, finding summer internships in PE is VERY difficult. With regards to off-cycles, most banks have them. There are about 20 decently sized players in IB, just go look on their careers website.
Completely my mistake - miswrote it! I meant that IBD BBs mostly focus on summers. With regards to PEs, my perception was that it’s virtually impossible to find both summer and off-cycle at PE. Another question then, how likely it is to find off-cycle at PE (say CVC, etc.)? 🤔 some PEs don’t even have careers page..
Yeah it's pretty common for people to do off-cycles after graduation. If you look at LBS MFA for example, there are plenty of people who do a summer internship in IB the year they graduate and then spend 6-12 months doing off-cycles in IB / PE before starting full-time at the bank where they did their summer internship after graduation.
Much appreciated! Do you think there are enough OC internship’s opportunities? Like from small boutique to BB/EB. Coz there will only be some internships in China after graduation from the UK 1-year master. I have to start from small boutique at first.
Not all banks offer off-cycles in London but a few do (I know of MS, PWP, Arma and Jefferies in the past but I'm sure there are more). Off-cycles is very common in PE and getting a few PE internships is a great way to gain experience and strengthen ur CV.
