London - Chemicals IB
What is the London Chemicals landscape like? I don't think there are many discussions about this so any information will be useful.

Career Resources
Bump - I would also like to know a bit more about the landscape, this is all I know so far...
Any more info on DB Chemicals team? Heard the same about them
EVR has a dedicated team covering Chemicals and they’re very strong
Agree - they do a lot of interesting buyside work from what I know.
How strong are PJT in Chemicals?
Very strong seniors
heard its a very sweaty team
yh all the above. HSBC has a seperate chemicals team - very busy as the MD is doing quite well in originating and executing. When i was there a year ago, the chemicals team was very busy.
BofA has a decent chemicals coverage as well
Bump. Have an offer to start out in a well respected Chemicals team. With respect to the industry itself, how attractive is a career in Chemicals IB? Who are the major players in private equity?
Cinven bought Bayer ES early this year
Bain Capital, Rhone, One Rock Capital Partners and Lone Star Funds are all firms that are invested in chemical businesses. One Rock Capital is the firm that I know of which has the most concentrated portfolio within chemicals.
anyone know about chemicals at MS? is it part of industrials? if so are they any good? looking mainly at basic and petrochemicals (BASF, the oil majors etc.)
at the junior level you sit within the broader Industrials team but there are seniors who are focused on covering Chemicals

Piper Sandler has the best chemicals team in London (heard from networking calls)
Piper is not the best by any means. Even in mid-market they have been losing their marquee clients this year
Your wrong. Piper has the #1 chemicals group on the street. All their chemicals bankers are ex bear stearns and they do huge deals year in year out
Piper, obviously. I heard good things from HL, RTH, and Baird as well, although it may not be fully dedicated in there case. Stifel/KBW is building a good one with two ex-Alantra MDs.
Piper Sandler, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, CVP
