I'm assuming your question here is more along the lines of "how is your bonus taxed" because surely you've already looked up London IB remuneration and have searched for a simple tax calculator for basic salary. Anyway, bonuses are essentially taxed at the same rate as you'd be taxed on your normal salary (until you pass the threshold for a higher tax band of course). You might end up paying more because of tax code complications but it will even itself out after HMRC realises you've paid too much tax.

Let's take Associate 1 for instance, c.£90k base gives you c.£5k net per month. A £60k gross bonus converts more or less into c.£33k after tax.

VP1 base £150k gets you a monthly £7.5k after tax. But by the time you get to VP, your ego is so inflated that your monthly expenses have grown so much as you indulge in an unsustainable life style that your salary after tax after ego-feeding is probably negative. Think about it
