London lateral hiring

Hey guys, long time lurker here.

Recently started FT at a BSB / MM in London.

A few months in and I realise the exit opps are a lot worse than I initially thought.

Does anyone have insight on the lateral process in London? Ie when do apps open, how to apply, how many rounds of interviews etc.

Appreciate any help!

Usually done on an Ad-Hoc basis. Would contact people you know/Alumni in the teams you are looking at - usually same coverage or related coverage and network with them. Try to be on their radar when someone leaves as they will surely be looking to hire someone and so on. Also check linkedin, first post stuff on there too when hiring. There is also HHs doing lateral hiring. Don’t know who specifically but they exist.
