London: Non-elite IB boutique vs Commercial Banking at name bank

UK UG here: For internship/analyst programme, what is better for long term PE/HF prospects, IB boutiques (Numis, Cenkos, Peel Hunt, Liberum) or Commercial Banking (HSBC/Santander/Lloyds)?

Those 'name' banks are not name banks. They're not even 3rd tier.

No, at least not with the larger funds. But the transaction experience will be more relevant, even if you don't have the BB/EB name on your resume.
