London vs. New York? Anyone had luck moving?
Hey. Has anybody moved from London to NYC (or vice versa) internally within the firm? How would you compare your financial position, living conditions, working culture, personal life, etc.?

I just moved from Toronto to NYC and London for a split role. It wasn't that much about comp/CoL rather than wanting to leave Canada. I love Canada as a country, but many within my management team were reporting into NYC or London anyway. Plus, this was a Covid position when my colleagues and I weren't able to move/fly/travel.
Toronto/NYC/London comparison - all cities are great. Overall comp would be higher (for me) in London or NYC, it's a mixed bag as I will be in both locations going forward. My role is straddling two different functions due to lack of headcount.
Personal life would be the most difficult, I would have to manage my social calendar in both locations and will miss out on some events. But overall, not too bad.
If you don't mind could you please expand a bit more on the comps and lifestyle comfort you've experienced at London vs New York financially? I've recently been into taxes spiel and boy are they insanely enormous in the UK, got me rethinking some things.
