Missing First Day of SA Program

Hi guys,
Need some help. I am an athlete at my school, and there is a very good chance that I will miss the first day of my upcoming SA because of the date my season will end.
I know the first day is usually very basic and nothing is going on, but I am stressed as shit because missing your first day couldn't be a worse start lol.
Any advice on how to go about this / who to talk to?

If you have a legit reason to do so, don’t worry about it. I’ve missed a first day and still got an offer and now will miss an entire week of work cuz I’m an intl student who can’t work outside summer semester. Truly painful.

Is it the first day of training or first day you hit the desk? Training is missable - I would not miss the first day you hit the desk. Let HR know of the possibility now. This happens occasionally and they will work with you.

I assume this is like NCAA championships or something you truly cannot miss - if not, I would try to work something out with your team.

Legit fine as long as you communicate, one of the kid in my intern class came hour late to official first start date but still got return so

You are good as long as you communicate.

A girl missed 3 weeks of the internship last year because of visa issue. She got the offer.

I also remember some interns missing some days because of exams
