Working currently as an Analyst in an American BB in London.
Was told I wasn't going to be promoted. Is there a chance I will be given Analyst 3 or will I get booted? Is my dream to get into PE out of the window? Anyone been in similar position?

First year feedback super strong, one guy complained and went downhill
Imo, unjustified.
Feedback is rarely objective. Even when it feels unfair it can be useful to dig deeper and understand the specifics behind it. Sometimes the real value is not in whether the criticism was justified but in learning how certain people perceive you.
Single review cycle doesn't define your trajectory. Feedback is just data. Some of it is valuable, some of it isn't.
Getting into PE is definitely still a possibility. I know a few people who have been in similar position and got into PE.
Not sure bout London grad programs but in the u.s, analyst programs are typically “up or out” in nature. Have a convo with your seniors around this and make that inquiry then (although they will probably default to the firm/program policy)
