Nobody cares what you do
Title says it all. It's time that some of you interalize that nobody is really looking that hard into what you are doing. Nobody cares whether you are in ECM/DCM or M&A. Most people don't even know the difference between retail banking and investment banking. Girls don't know either, if that's what you're after. Nobody cares.
Edit: this was meant more in the way of stop caring what other people think and focus on what you want, instead of doing things for the view of other people
