Off Cycle at BB/EB or FT at MM? Help

I feel like an Idiot for even thinking about this and giving up a seat I worked so hard for, but my heart says it's correct.

I do not want to dox myself, but the MM does not pay bonuses to first years iykyk and including grad has a 3-year program as an analyst.

Compared to BB/EB, which gives a great bonus and an analyst program is 2 years. Now the obvious risk is that I don't convert in this market?

How hard would it be to land something else in this case? Is it worth the risk? I am hesitant to start at MM because the lateral market is weak.

Thoughts and opinions welcome, please.

I personally would take the MM

Huge gamble as you could end up unemployed if you don’t convert

Yeah logically this makes sense.

How feasible is it to lateral within a year.

Would you do it if I could delay start date then reneg? Understood I would be blacklisted, but scared to even ask to defer lol

London or NYC

Wouldn’t risk if in London, do you know how typical returns are?

London, no real insight into returns?

How can i ask the team this professionally lol? think it is a bit risky as they will know i renged another offer.

Another point, are you on a visa or not?

If you are, it’s a huge gamble as you’re risking getting sent back home

Otherwise it’s worth speaking to past OCs at that bank to enquire how conversions look like. Are they hiring OCs with headcount for a FT seat? Or is it more seasonal for some cheap labour?
