Off-Cycle London (FT or Internship)

Will someone please confirm a couple of items about off-cycle IB positions?

1) Are these FT positions? Career websites for some BB banks appear to be listing them as internships.  

2) Are these positions usually intended for recent graduates (<6 months)?  

Would really appreciate some color here.

- intended for whoever has the time to intern for a longer period during the year rather than during the summer

Generally, it would be the summer of next year. In fact, you get into the same FT offer pool with the SAs to fill the spots for next year's graduate class. Although, I have seen cases where off-cycle interns are given offers to join immediately that summer. However, that's rather the exception and is only due to business needs.

Gotcha thanks. Seems like you're familiar with the London IB scene. Do you mind providing a bit of color on the lateral process then? I've been on the desk (high finance but not IB) for approx six months and am looking to move to a BB (whether that be through OC as originally asked or via lateral hiring)
