you earn 2x the average UK salary, 20k more than people at the Big4. Yes you can, you're doing very well actually, off-cycles in continental Europe get paid way less (looking at you Paris). If you're not spending too much you could save 20-25% of your salary. Bare in mind that you'll expense dinners, taxi home, weekend meals in the office and won't have much time to spend your money on other stuff.

I've always wondered this but what is EB pay like in London in terms of bonus and signing bonus? I feel like it's way low compared to NY partially due to exchange rate (for some reason the whole base 50k thing throws me off because it just sounds like a low number lol) but also because US EBs tend to be much less established in London. Is this true that US EBs are not that hot of a thing in London rn and what is the general sentiment surrounding US EBs in London? E.g. is EVR/PJT still considered the hottest for exits and Centerview still the highest paying but not so strong in exits in London specifically? And generally how do JPM/MS/GS place relative to EBs? Not trying to disrespect here but genuinely curious. ty in advance for so many questions

No clue for sign on but would say 6-10k GBP, bonuses at boutiques are most of the time in the 35-70k range for first years. For exits GS/MS/JP>>>> boutiques, once in boutiques it will depend on their strengths. MoCo only exits to distressed, Evercore is ok-ish nothing stellar, PJT is quite good as seniors help you recruiting just below JP imo, Centerview doesn’t exit well because of the lockup + why would you leave to take a paycut? PWP has decent exits just like evercore.
