Packing for a San Francisco Internship

I'm about to head to San Francisco for an 8-week summer analyst program and am curious about what I should pack in terms of clothing. As an FYI, I've never been to the west coast, and my internship is in person.

Things I'm planning on packing:

  • 3 Full suits with ties and undershirts
  • A couple of pairs of jeans and sweat pants
  • Formal/Traditional shoes

Things I'm thinking about/considering:

  • Sweatshirts
  • Business casual shoes?? I've heard that some people wear tennis shoes essentially??

Obviously, this isn't an all-extensive list. I'm looking to determine the amount of non-formal wear I should bring, considering the more lax nature of the west coast. At the end of the day, I don't want to wear a full suit (excluding a tie and jacket) every day if everyone else is in jeans. I know this will largely vary from bank to bank, but I wanted a consensus of how many pairs of jeans/button-up shirts I should bring or something else that is the norm.

Thanks.

Based on some limited zoom calls fleece jackets/vests seem to be popular but not unlike NYC, it can get muggy in the office in SF in the summer

Depends on ur building's AC/materials, some of the old glass and brick ones get quite hot - not saying its Florida or something though
