People at work think I’m a doochebag

I went to a good school.
I come from a privileged background.
I just started six months ago and my performance has been subpar (I have been in bad health).

My performance has improved lately but I can tell my coworkers still do not like me. Will they always dislike me or can I overcome the stigma?

What should I do?

Maybe you're just a douchebag?

In all seriousness, try to take a step back and think why people may have that opinion of you. If it's just because you're not performing up to par, people would probably see you as just dumb or something and not a douchebag. Have you been arrogant at all? I say this as someone who came from a privileged background and was a huge douchebag in high school to the point my mentor told me I had to be better in college.

High finance is a field full of privileged people, so that alone wouldn't make you a douchebag, especially with poor health. I feel like there is more to the story here.
