PJTs analyst programme in London has always been generalist, so if this is true it would only apply to the US
i heard it was generalist as in you can simultaneously get staffed across teams but apparently now it’s strictly one team for 6 months and u move on
Its a bit odd that they would do that. so if one poor analyst is staffed on a team with 0 deal-flow hes going to be stuck there for 6 months?
one of their main selling points was the generalist exposure in London and the generalist exposure within M&A in US.

London has always been generalist across RSSG and SA so this is nothing new. I'm at PJT NY and the analysts haven't heard about this affecting our office
it's changing from generalist to rotational, in both new york (only strategic advisory) and london - have analyst friends that received the internal email. For new york this means if you’re in strategic advisory you’ll do 6 month blocks in specific teams instead of a fluid staffing structure
