Profile Review. Am i competitive enough for Full-Time Recruiting? Worth applying to NYC for summers if i need sponsorship?

My profile:

-Incoming Master's student at Top UK target -1st class honours from Semi-Target undergrad -Incoming 2020 IBD SA in American Bulge Bracket (M&A and LevFin) in London office -Internship in Sovereign wealth fund (mainly in PE division, so decent grasp of LBOs, Bolt ons, Carve outs etc) -Internship in commodity and macroeconomic research for a Monetary Authority -Alright extracurriculars: Founded a pretty successful startup (>1500% ROI, profit per hour was 2x national minimum wage), Founded a popular society, Uni sports team, amateur author and sing open mics etc. Tons of debate/public speaking awards. -First person ever to intern in IB from my country (would only mention this in interviews in passing, if that), immense financial issue growing up (first gen, single parent household and self studied final year of high school due to financial issues). This might be irrelevant.

I'm pretty bearish on the overall state of the economy and conversion rates considering its looking very likely my internship will go at least partially virtual. If we assume I don't convert (hopefully only hypothetically), would you suggest that I apply for grad straight away or look to wait out a recession and hedge my bets by applying for summer internships again or off-cyles. Finally, I also understand that US summer recruiting is heading into full swing (right?). As it would not affect my ability to apply for London based roles, do you think it would be realistically worth applying for internships in NYC as well? When i say 'worth', I understand that my chances would be non-zero, but there would be enormous time investment in rewriting cover letters and practicing techs and competency questions when my odds would be only 1-2% etc. Are US firms more unwilling to sponsor temporary work visas than other offices? Have no clue about US immigration but you'd guess the Donald isn't enormously keen on it.

Sounds extremely bs I know. Very, very small country (500k pop), no stock exchange etc. Theres a group on linkedin for finance professionals and a pretty senior person mentioned that to me. Looked extensively on linkedin to confirm this. I'd say I am almost certainly the only person to have ever interned in IB in the west at the very least. Again, not something I'd ever put on a cv or anything. Thoughts on the question in the post?

What is your reason for wanting to be in NYC over London?

Sponsorship varies by firm and division but NYC generally recruits students who go to American colleges
