Is this for an interview or are you starting a role?
New role
If this for an interview, you can't ramp up on a day. Sorry.
Your best bet is to pick up 10K of the company you're interviewing with, go through its 10K, recent IP, and conf transcript. Repeat the process for 2 of its major competitors
OP here, starting a new role in the field and want to be of help to the team as quickly as possible on deals and get to know the sector in depth hence, thanks in advance for any tips

worth going through project finance. Otherwise search google for an industry primer - ask an associate in the team you are about to join to see if s/he can share one - most teams have a primer that they are able to share
