RBC London - Consumer/Retail Group

Hi all, anyone have some insights on RBC London, specifically their Consumer/Retail group?

e.g.:
- M&A deals / recent advisory mandates
- League tables
- Team / Culture / WLB
- Exits (lateral or PE)
- Comp

Would be much appreciated!

Some good Seniors in there.

Diggles is a good MD and the French lady director is also good.

Do some good sellsides, also cover the leisure space as well as consumer.

Pay is weak as with most of RBC

Culture is a lot more chilled than BBs

Thanks! This is helpful.

Do you have any data on pay? Preferably base + bonus at senior analyst / junior associate level. Would be great.

Do you guys know anything about how the length of their process and the modelling test?

A pretty low dealflow group like most of RBC London. There’s only one coverage group at RBC London which generates any meaningful fees, power/utilires/renewables and it’s mainly one rockstar MD driving the dealflow. They’re like over half of total IB revenues and AFAIK the only team that places people into funds aside from that one guy in transport who went to KKR.

Exits from other groups will be to other banks, typically. Likestyle is pretty chill but if you’re looking for deal reps, good comp or buyside exits there are much better places in London (power aside).
