Reach out to HR - Reapplicant?

Curious to get some advice. ~1 yr ago, interviewed at a bank and made it deep into the process. Was hard pressed with a different exploding offer. Told them about the exploding offer, but they said they had to continue to interview. I ended up taking the exploding offer.

Now in the present, an opening at that same bank has opened up. I definitely want to reapply because I don't think my interest has changed over the past year, but I am curious if I should reach out to HR just to let them know I am just as interested in the firm and that I'm excited to apply again? Should I just reapply online? Anyone have any insights here? I've reached out to an alum in the group as well, so that would be the ideal case if they get back to me, but I am trying to plan for a scenario where they do not get back to me.

Due to HR policies you will probably have to submit an official application again, but I would try and chat to your contact beforehand as he/she could push HR to put your application on the top of the pile.

Good luck!
