Reneging on BB
Was a 2022 SA at a BB. Following the internship, I received and accepted the return offer for full time. However, since then, I'm not sure if this is something that I can really see myself being interested in and doing.
Question is: If I renege on the full-time BB offer for something else, would the BB try to screw me over or would they likely not care that much.
Looking for some advice and opinions on this as I know this is quite an important decision and step in my professional career.

Reneging is overrated. Nobody's going after you, that would be retaliation. Just be respectful and give some BS excuse.
If you are reneging for another industry, such as consulting, no one will care
If you are reneging for another bank, then yeah, some banks will not appreciate it
They won't care, especially if you tell them your interests better align with other opportunities outside of banking.
Only kids in college seem to be concerned about this. While I was in banking I saw more than 20+ ppl reneg on their offers and nobody had any issues. You think banks have that much time to care?
No one cares
Unless you've got some personal beef with someone at the bank you're reneging, you have nothing to worry about. Banks and their HR teams are busier than you'd think, and have much better things to do than trying to sabotage an intern's career lmao
