Reneging on spring week

Hi everyone,

At the spring week stage, how much of an issue is it to go back on an offer you accepted? I’ve found that the dates for a spring week at a BB clash with the dates of a MM that has more focus on GCM/markets. I would prefer the BB as they have a bigger focus on investment banking which I am more interested in, but am not sure how to go about it.

Thank you for any advice.

Thank you for reassuring me haha. I think seeing stuff about being blacklisted scared me a bit.

Actually reneging on any offer (FT, SA, Spring) is fine, and you need to do what is best for you. This happens all the time, and HR are well-aware of it so hold candidates in reserve or over-recruit to account for it. Selfishly, as a banker, I don't like it when people I interviewed, called and gave an offer to, etc., renege, but I know I'd do the same if I had what I perceived to be a better offer
