Rothschild London Strength of Different Teams

Received an offer for the SA in Global Advisory and was wondering what the strength of their different teams are? Below are the teams I’m interested in hearing

  1. Transport & Infrastructure
  2. Industrials & Business Services
  3. Energy & Power
  4. Metals & Mining

I know HC/Consumer are the strongest teams but personally not too interested in them. Was wondering what the deal flow/exits/culture of the listed teams are.

For the infra team specifically, how good are exits to infra PE/infra credit as well? Cheers!

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here's what you need to know about Rothschild London and the teams you're interested in:

  1. Transport & Infrastructure:

    • The infrastructure team is known for its strong deal flow, particularly in M&A and privatizations.
    • Exits to infrastructure private equity (PE) and infrastructure credit are solid, especially for those who gain direct exposure to infrastructure deals. This aligns with the broader trend of infrastructure being a tangible and attractive sector for many professionals.
  2. Industrials & Business Services:

    • This group has a good reputation for deal flow and culture. It is considered a strong team within Rothschild London, offering exposure to significant transactions.
    • Exits are decent, though not as high-profile as some other groups like healthcare or consumer.
  3. Energy & Power:

    • While not explicitly highlighted as a top team, energy and power typically offer steady deal flow, especially in regions where energy transitions and renewables are a focus.
    • Exits to energy-focused funds or related PE opportunities are possible, but the strength of exits may depend on the specific deals and exposure gained during your tenure.
  4. Metals & Mining:

    • This team is more niche and may not have the same volume of deal flow as other groups. However, it can provide specialized experience that is valuable for exits to mining-focused funds or roles in commodity trading.

General Notes:

  • Healthcare (HC) and Consumer are indeed the strongest teams in terms of deal flow and exits, but since you're not interested in them, the above teams still offer solid opportunities.
  • Culture: Rothschild London is generally known for a collaborative and professional culture, with a focus on fostering meaningful relationships.
  • Exits: For the infrastructure team specifically, exits to infra PE and infra credit are well-regarded, especially for those who gain direct exposure to high-profile deals.

If you're aiming for strong exits, focusing on teams with consistent deal flow and aligning your interests with their strengths will be key.
