Semi-target Recruiting for RX Summer London

Context - I'm a first year undergrad studying a stem degree at a semi-target in London. I had my spring at American Express and have an upcoming internship in real estate debt advisory and restructuring at a boutique based in the Middle East (avg deal size around 50-100 million). I also started and led an AI-related student society earlier this year, and will be starting and leading our finance society's M&A Group after the summer.

I really want to work in RX, but the prevailing consensus seems to advise against recruiting for RX summers as an undergrad. A lot of the discouragement seems to circle around its competitive landscape and nature. Would it be prudent to focus my efforts on recruiting for IBD summers instead? Is it obtainable for a semi-target undergrad to land an RX summer at an EB? Are RX SA's reserved only for Oxbridge/LSE students? I'm currently leaning towards recruiting for both, with RX as a back-up.

prevailing consensus is retarded. Pick what you like and go for it. There are no back-ups, no chance you get into RX from a semi if it is your back-up LOL. Even IB from a semi-target is competitive.

Everything worthwhile is competitive, if you shy away from that might as well go fucking apply to be a real estate salesman
