Shirt Dress Code - London

What is acceptable for a male intern / 1st yr analyst to wear shirt wise.

Are striped shirts ok or should you only stick to plain white & blue?

And how strict is "no brown in town" in The City? Brown brogues ok on fridays?

Any insights / other dress advice appreciated.

Just stick to white and light blue, while stripes may be fine in certain offices there is 0% upside - internships are nerve wracking enough without the added worry if whether or not you are dressed appropriately / whether your colleagues are judging you.

If fridays are casual fridays, the brown brogues should be fine, otherwise definitely dont wear them. Maybe play it safe on the first/second friday by just wearing suit pants + shirt + brown shoes and get a sense about how casual people are.
