Sophomore Internship: Hedge Fund or PE/IB?
Hi all,
I'm a rising-sophomore at a target currently applying to internships for next summer. I am mainly interested in HF/PE/IB for a first job out of college, but I'm not sure about how to approach next summer:
This summer (freshman summer), I'm currently interning at a hedge fund, but not really doing anything research-related (more operational role). Because I'm still evaluating whether to aim for hedge funds out of undergrad or to go into PE/IB, I currently plan to intern at a hedge fund again next summer to get a feel for what an investment research role is like on a day-to-day basis, and whether I can see myself working in a role like that for full-time. However, in the case where I decide to go the PE/IB route instead after next summer, will having 2 hedge fund internships be a red flag for recruiting to PE/IB for junior summer (maybe recruiters have doubts about where my interests lie, etc.)?
Thank you very much!
