It seems to me the only real way to get into a bulge is to do a summer internship. Otherwise if you dont go to a top school you are fucked.
My school has a BA/MA program that would allow me another shot at those coveted internships. Any thoughts if its worth trying this?

What school? I'd say it's probably not worth it, but there are plenty of people on here who will know better.
Brandeis, which is a very good acedemic school where no one recruits, ie no wall street cred.
Im just not sure what else to do as I want to do equity research, a field where there isnt much in the way of entry level outside of the big banks.
Any alumni network at your school?
Brandeis? Isn't that a Jewish school? There should be a lot of alumni working in the industry.
