Switching from Goldman Sachs IBD Engineering to IBD Strats
IBD Engineering is responsible development of systems used by IBD to execute M&A and financing companies through debt and equity offerings such as Bond New Issuances and IPOs.
IBD Strats is responsible for helping optimize IBD's capital structures across a range of products, and assess various M&A alternatives in a quantitative framework, along with other things.
I'm wondering if internal mobility between the Software engineering and strats is possible and easy within the same division (IBD in my case). I will be interning with IBD Engineering as a software engineer, but would like to learn more about IBD strats and potentially move in the future.
