Switching to a better paying but less IB related job before getting into IB

Hey

I'm (23m) gonna do a master's degree in finance at a target European uni in the autumn of 2026. I've gotten a job offer for a role which is less about finance than my current job as a fund administrator in asset management. It's a "systems specialist" role at an industry company, so kind of more into software and maintaining their specific systems.

I'm interested since the salary is quite a bit better than my current job, and I have had a hard time getting interviews for other relevant jobs. I've also gotten tired of my current workplace.

I'm just wondering, how bad would this be for my resume if I eventually, after my master's degree, want to get into IB? Do the banks care if I go from an asset management firm to a random "IT" job at an industry firm for a year? Would it damage my resume? Would it be better to stay as a fund administrator?

Thanks
