Taking a day off during SA
Hi everyone, I have an IBD summer internship coming up this summer, starting mid-June. I really like the team and would love to convert, especially since I am a final year undergraduate and not planning on doing a masters. However, I have a very last exam at university (outside the UK) at the end of June. How bad is it to take a day off during the SA if I want a return offer? If I don't go to the exam, I can only retake it a year later, which I obviously don‘t want.
Communicate it early, then it shouldn't be a problem for smth like an exam. Got a day off as a SA for smth less important and a return
Hey, this is normal. I've seen ppl take days off for a few exams. HR even asked the interns if they wanted more time off to study. But yeah, it's so important you pass your exams. That's the last thing HR and bankers want to hear. Best of luck with bro!
Thanks guys! Should I wait until the start of the internship to ask HR or should I contact them now? The worst thing is that the exam is on the Monday of the second week and the SA starts with a week of training. So effectively I would be off on the first day with the actual team
