Target with No Connections and No Experience
I am a freshman undergrad at a top target (Oxbridge), studying econ (PPE) and recently realized I wanted to do finance. Because I did not know this before, I have zero finance related experience/clubs etc. At the last minute, I managed to find a summer internship at a small PE fund but it got cancelled due to COVID-19. I also come from a working class background so do not really have any connections from family, friends etc. in finance.
It seems like I will have to go into the summer analyst recruiting cycle with no finance related experience on my CV. Any tips on what I could do to overcome this? Any steps I should take this summer or any advice regarding a strategy for applying to London IBD roles would be greatly appreciated.
