Tax fraud?
Should I say that x experience in my resume was unpaid when it was paid but there was an agreement that compensation would be cash, and thus, I didn't pay taxes.

Why wouldn't you just file a self employed tax return / independent contractor if you got paid cash...
If it was in the last 3 years just file an amended tax return and pay the back taxes, this is absolutely not worth the tiny amount of internship money + failing a background check

Since all it says is Prospect in ER, I assume you're in college. If that's the case, having an unpaid internship is perfectly fine. That said, no one cares if your internship is paid or not. No one is going to look into it.
It wasn't an internship. It would be something like being a tutor
