Have a friend at DC advisory, pretty good in the lower to mid market space. You’ll learn a lot and get good exposure to transactions, they do a lot of work with PE funds selling their portfolio companies so you’ll work on some interesting deals too. Only thing is the pay is terrible, well below market at the analyst and associate level
How bad is the pay? One of my buddies just left the firm and was complaining about the pay but never cared to ask.
Base is around 10% lower than street at analyst levels and 10-20% lower than street at associate levels. Bonuses are also terrible.
