UK assoc looking for work in NY

I'm just starting year 2 as an associate at an IB in London (working in DCM Origination). However, my girlfriend and I are thinking about moving to NY. She works in consulting and it would be easy for her to move. Unfortunately, I work for a European IB with only a small operation in NY, so I'm the problem...

Can anyone point me in the direction of a good headhunting firm who'll look at foreign candidates? And does anyone have any experience of getting a work permit? Any tips gladly received.

Many thanks in advance.

hey, if you earn 30 bananas you can gain access to the recruiter database on the site which has some great NYC recruiters on it.

right in the "Welcome to iBankingOasis!" bubble you'll see the last line has "Recruiter Database" highlighted in brown. This is a hyperlink so if you just click on it you'll see the list of recruiters that we recommend. If you have over 30 bananas you should hvae no problem pulling it up.

let me know if you have any issues. Thanks.

I'm trying... am on my way, but a long way to go!!

I know the UK market pretty well in terms of which websites and recruiters have the best reputations. But I've no idea where to start when it comes to the US.

Which websites (apart from this one, of course) are the 'industry-standards' when it comes to experienced hires looking for work on Wall Street?

I'd appreciate it if you didn't hijack my thread, so if you want an answer to your questions about internships in London (which I have answers to), please post a new thread...

I'd still be grateful for any tips/info on looking for work in New York. Any thoughts people?
