UK Banking Recruitment
Was wondering if anyone on here has gone through or knows about the Investment Banking recruitment process for the UK. I live in the US and London is a place I applied to with a BB. I took a numerical test and after i finished, I went back to the website and it says "Your results have been submitted for review". That was was almost two weeks ago. It'll be two weeks this thursday. I received the email two weeks ago saying I had seven days to complete.
My guess is that since last thursday was the 1 week mark, they waited for everyone to take it and might be reviewing it now. But shouldn't it be automated? Also, some other banks I've read about have a system set up so that if you fail the test, it'll tell you right after.
Again I did a numerical test. I was wondering if I should prepare for a verbal test. Any help would be much appreciated.
are you applying for the 2011 summer analyst programme or an off-cycle internship?
if you are applying for a summer 2011 job, recruiting has just begun- the deadline for apps is usually around december, so you'll have to wait awhile before HR gets back to you. if you fail the test, you are usually told sooner than later, so the fact that you haven't been told means you probably passed the test not everyone who passes the test gets interviewed though-it just helps whittle down the list
Sorry to hi-jack this thread, but how does interviewing work if you live in the US? Do they fly you to London or do you interview with US recruiters/analysts and then they kind of make a recommendation?
You're not hijacking the thread as that was going to be my next question haha. If anyone knows, please post!
Thanks for the info affirmative. After a bit more digging, BarCap specifically lets you know right after while CS and DB send an email.
You usually have to wait a while. One BB I applied to acknowledged my application in early September, asked me to sit online tests right after, and then contacted me for a phone interview in December - I kid you not. Entire process lasted till mid Feb (with 2 assessment centres). Sometimes it's quicker, other times slower - but you can't read anything into not hearing.
As for interview - I know that at a few UK interviews there were US guys there, so presumably they fly people out. I guess it's up to the bank - they may just do a seperate UK interview from the NY office.
Hope that helps. PM for more.
Bb.
I wish I was given some kind of heads up so I can apply for a passport. Should probably do that just in case.
