seems like a list of terrible reasons to join a grueling and competitive job. i'm sure some people would see the value in your education if you went into the healthcare team but seriously reconsider your Why IB reasons you listed. Have you considered joining a health insurance company/biotech? You are in a position to skip the entry level super competitive jobs and go into a mid-level position. There are plenty of unique jobs that seek MDs and will pay handsomely.
otherwise, MBA would probably be reasonable to prepare your story for switching to IB. However, I'm not recommending it.
Don’t do it. Maybe look at pivoting to some sort of healthcare consulting gig.
Have seen Doctor -> MBA -> FO (IB, ER)
And Doctor -> ER.
Yes you are probably pretty limited to a Healthcare team here. Heck some ER teams only hire ex-doctors or those with advanced degrees in something Medicine-y.
But as others say - question why you really want this.
And what you said about medicine/law - not so sure that IB has fared any better than law. In fact fun to my head, I'd say IB has fared worse.
