Unavailable for networking call

Been doing some networking and everything’s fine in terms of the actual calls. However, I wanted to know if it is rude to tell the banker that you’re unavailable on a certain day. For example they suggested later days this week but I’m working regular job all day both days. Is it ok to suggest pushing the call back to next week or am I expected to just take it regardless? I know ur supposed to miss class in a situation like this but work isn’t really something I can miss. Sorry if this is a dumb question just not trying to look inconsiderate

Honestly don’t sweat it. Just say you’re unavailable, maybe mention work if you want, but respectfully ask to do it another day. You’d be lucky if they agree but if they don’t respond just move on. Don’t overthink it.

Also, wouldn’t recommend skipping classes (at least consistently) to network with analysts (might make exceptions for more senior people) either, there should be enough gaps that you can make it work.

Lastly, what are you networking for in July?
