Vacation as summer analyst

I know that generally you dont go on vacation when you work in IB. However I am currently facing the following problem.

Two of my exams were postponed (Last week of July and First week of August). Both of those exams will be in person and I can write both exams only every 3 semester (18 months).

The main problem is, that my university is about a 3 hour flight away from work and therefore I'd have to take at least 4 days of. (Exams are early in the morning and the last flight leaves around 20.00 something). In other words I would have to leave work at around 17.00 head to the airport, fly to university write my exam in the morning take the next flight back and arrive at work at around 19.00 back at the office. This times two since the exams are in separate weeks.

What are your thoughts on this?

Is it possible to take a vacation? Should I even ask?

I am honestly afraid that me asking would result in me not getting a return offer but on the other hand I have to write the exam since otherwise I'd be stuck another year at university. This would be really bad because due to covid and some courses that were postponed I am already stuck in university for 1-2 additional semester. If I couldn't write the exams I would have spent 10 semester in an undergraduate course that is supposed to take 6 semester.

Please excuse my English I am not a native speaker.

Any advice helps, Thanks

Think of it this way, you aren't going to get a FT offer (or be able to start FT) if you don't graduate from UG. Talk to your immediate superior, let them know your situation and suggest WFH for those days and/or let them recommend what they think is the best course of action. Highly unlikely that they'll ding you for trying to graduate, it'll be just on you to work 200% during that time to make up for any potential optics.
