What are my chances at landing an IB summer analyst interview at BBs/EBs based on my consulting background?

Hello everyone,
I want to set realistic expectations about breaking into London IB summer internships at EBs or BBs as a non-traditional applicant. I haven’t seen many posts or profiles similar to mine here or on LinkedIn, so I hope this discussion can also help others in a similar position.

  • CS undergrad at German target school: top 3-5%
  • Incoming MSc at LBS, GMAT: 97th-99th percentile
  • Four consulting internships, including MBB; Some focused on M&A advisory
  • Leadership in student clubs; small entrepreneurial success

I’m targeting summer internships at EBs and BBs in London. My background is non-traditional (CS undergrad, consulting-heavy experience), so I’m curious about how screwed I am regarding this ambition.

What is your take on landing interviews (with and without good networking)?

Looking forward to brutal honesty :) Thanks!
