What are my chances for MM IB London? Semi-target MSc, deal advisory experience in operations.
I'm very fortunate to have this kind of problem. I will likely have a first round at a MM IB in London through networking in a couple of weeks time.
However, my problem is I only have 1yr deals advisory operations experience, currently in a semi-target MSc in Finance programme, foreign languages bachelor's from non-target.
Most people, but not all, that get hired by this firm usually have target bachelor's/master's (LBS, Oxford, LSE, etc.) and at least one IB internship, oftentimes two.
My question is, what can I do to set myself apart? What can I do to convince them to choose me over somebody else?
My plan is to do a crazy amount of mock interviews to perfect my behaviourals and technicals.
Should I focus on getting more experience (maybe in a boutique) before even considering making the jump to IB London?
