What capital markets services to IBD coverage analysts offer at BBs?

At a strong mid market firm here in london I’m generalist M&A so we don’t really do sector coverage work.

I saw someone on this app mentioned that at BBs coverage group bankers do some capital markets work for their clients as-well as execution. Is this just equity raises & some bond work, or am I missing something?

So my question is, say you’re in a Tech Coverage group at a BB, what are the components of your work other than deal execution.

What exactly are the capital markets services you provide and what work do you have to do for this as an Analyst/Associate.

Thanks

I’m at a MM Balance sheet bank in the US, so take with a grain of salt.

Our coverage team does mostly pitching. Our product group and execution group hold the pen to all the models. Coverage is brought in for expertise and relationships, but all of our product groups are split into verticals as well.

From speaking to a lot of my friends, my bank is on the more extreme when it comes to this breakout. Coverage is glorified here just for the job title, but our products groups tend to have the best exits, anecdotally
