Why is there a lot of European preference (Italian specifically) in London IB summer recruiting etc
On LinkedIn, it seems like for banks like GS, half of the interns are Italian. I get that speaking multiple languages is a plus, but then why aren't other European nationalities represented more? Also, I read in another thread that there's a significant Italian presence in the London offices of some banks, but wouldn't HR also be against nationalities hiring their own nationality?
Bocconi is a huge target school (probably the biggest outside of the UK alongside HEC). and also a lot of Italians want to move out to London because Italian salaries aren't the best whereas French and German people are more inclined to stay due to their better economic situation.
Also felt like Italians and Germans were the biggest hardos in SA recruitment
