Winter IB Analyst expectations if I already have a summer offer?

Hi all,

I have an interview at an EB for a Winter IB Analyst position. I have already signed with a different EB for the summer, which is why I was confused I got the interview.

My question is - will they expect me to denounce my next summer internship in the interview and say I'm trying to full time there, or they will be understanding if I say that I will not be coming back full-time? What is their end goal with taking me on in the winter if I already have a summer offer?

Thanks guys

Is this PJT? I went through that process during my cycle after having signed a SA at a different bank. Let me know if you have any more questions

I went thru the winter analyst thing last year. Expect to get asked what you have lined up for the summer; they probly wont ask why PJT vs ... but they might so my advice would be speak to positive differentiators PJT has and avoid directly comparing it to your SA spot. Also, unless your summer gig is on your resume, I wouldn't discuss unless asked (mine wasn't on my cv and I only talked to one or two people about it who asked me directly). Thinking back the past winter analysts have had a variety of consulting/cap markts/REPE/investing summer internships after. GL!
