Work delegation on projects?

I’m an a2 at a MM and find that I’m doing most to sometimes all of the modeling, process work and ppt slides, meanwhile my associates just review the work and give a few basic comments. I often find myself working until 12 or 1am due to being overstaffed, meanwhile they usually leave before 7pm despite not doing anything at all on our workstreams.

I want to have better delegation of work between myself and my associates. Any advice?

Speaking as an associate, if you are working late hours while your associate is dipping early, the next time your associate dumps work on you let them know that you are at capacity and could use help. Ultimately, they are responsible for your work product and if you are at capacity, the work won't get done. If this persists (and I mean it has to be blatant that he's not doing anything), and talking to them doesn't work, I'd let the VP know.
