Work xp toil against entry level IB role?

Hi all,

I have recently read on analyst forum that bringing work xp of 2-3 yrs before applying for IB analyst roles further lower your chances of getting that IB role.

I already have a 1 year of FT work xp as financial analyst but it's not in IB. Albeit, I want to work in IB(UK) post masters.

Since I'm working in a non branded fmcg so I was thinking about working another year and get some projects to show case on to built my profile before joining masters.

Is it advisable? Will my 2 years of FT Xp will further lower my chances of getting accepted at those IB roles?
