Working at a Firm with "in-between" titles - Lateraling
I work for a boutique IB in the US (based in UK), and instead of typical structure, they have really weird "in-between" titles such as Analyst -> Sr Analyst ->Associate -> Senior Associate -> AVP -> VP -> Associate Director -> Director -> Executive Director -> Managing Director.
I took the job after working as an Associate 1 for a year at a MM IB to "Senior Associate" here hoping to reach VP quicker, but didn't know about this dumb "AVP" level until I started.
Say I get promoted to AVP in ~18 months, Can an AVP lateral into VP? Would have ~5 years of IB experience.
