Would you say IB has fundamentally changed your self-motivation/discipline with time?
I'm about to start as an investment banking analyst at a top US BB in London in one of their sweatier teams. For those who've worked in banking for a while, how would you say the hours have affected your self-motivation / discipline with time? Do you think it has fundamentally shifted it such that you could never imagine yourself working in a regular 9-5 job at least without some other project going on in the background?
Is it too wishful thinking to assume that doing your analyst years in IB will be as condusive to building discipline as perhaps the army or smthn? Sorry if this is a dumb question, new on the site
