Pacific Crest -> not as a strong brand name compared to USA? perhaps if OP is interested in FT recruiting? I think USA is rebuilding atm so should be better than PC?

Both IBs are great. The problem is each have a very small team in their LA offices (like 2 or 3 bankers each) from when I last checked. it would be a different story if you had SF or NY offers from this shops.

I think the brand equity you will gain at HL outweighs your IB experience you will get at USA or PC in LA. HL gives you formal (tranferrable to IB) training that you won't get at a regional office of a boutique IB. At the end of the day you will come out with similar skill sets. As long as you know how to build a 3-statement model everything else is easy. Also, you will be able to build a larger network from a summer in NY. I would take HL try as hard as you can to get a return offer and go from there.
