Advice Needed: Cold Email Team for Lateral Analyst Position in London

Hi all, would greatly appreciate any advice or insight for this, specially for London.

I’m very keen on an Analyst role and would like to lateral. I have applied for the position on the careers portal but I’m conscious that lateraling is a lot more competitive. Would it be appropriate for me to cold email the team members, particularly the staffer, of my interest and CV? I would like to maximise my chances of landing an interview but am unsure if this is the right approach as I’m aware networking is not the norm in London.

Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated. I’m new to applying for lateral roles!
